What began in October 2024 with weekly meetings in Hohenheim culminated at the United Nations General Assembly in New York. Every Monday evening, we gathered as a delegation, and by early November, our retreat weekend in Heidelberg was already on the horizon: two days of intensive work, debate, and, above all, growing together as a team. There, we laid the foundation for our role as diplomats of Turkmenistan\u2014a country that was initially hard for many of us to grasp. But with every meeting, every discussion, and every additional source, it became clearer just how complex, exciting, and responsible this task was.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to examining Turkmenistan\u2019s social, economic, and political stances in depth, we practiced diplomatic negotiation, delivering speeches in English, and holding our own in UN committees. Two mock simulations\u2014one at the University of Hohenheim and another in collaboration with the University of T\u00fcbingen\u2014helped us gain confidence in the format and develop a keen sense of tact for negotiation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On March 31, 2025, our trip finally began. Our hotel was just a few minutes from Times Square, right in the heart of a city that never sleeps. During Study Week, we immersed ourselves deeply in the world of international diplomacy: Through discussions with the Permanent Mission of Germany and the European Union, we gained direct insights into everyday diplomatic life. Visits to Celonis, the UN headquarters, and the German American Chamber of Commerce also opened up new perspectives. On April 6, the moment had finally arrived: the conference began, and with it, the culmination of what we had been working toward for months. For four days, we represented Turkmenistan with strong arguments, negotiating skills, and team spirit. Our efforts did not go unnoticed: our delegation was honored with an Honorable Delegation Award <\/em>ausgezeichnet. Doch es waren nicht nur die Auszeichnungen, die diesen Weg besonders machten. Internationale Politik brachte uns zusammen, aber es waren die gemeinsamen Erlebnisse, die uns wirklich zusammengeschwei\u00dft haben. Gespr\u00e4che bis tief in die Nacht, gemeinsame Herausforderungen und unvergessliche Erlebnisse in New York, all das machte NMUN 2025 zu mehr als nur einem Projekt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
